Kove - Still High

My favourite new producer of last year makes a return after 'Way We Are' which ended up smashing up dancefloors and festival sets over the last 6 months.
What I love so much about Kove is the variation he has in his production skills, each new tune a completely different sound to his last, but always so well delivered. Inconsistent in style but consistant in quality.
 'Still High' is an epic track start to finish, one of the most mature productions i've heard from Kove. Part of the new 'Murmurations' EP - out October 5th via MTA Records.

Blonde - I Loved You (Preditah Remix)

Blonde's 'I Loved You' was their most highly-praised and widely-played track during their emergence into the house scene. Now having established their place and cemented their footprints in current UK dance culture, they have re-mastered and re-released the track, making it sound better than ever.
Ultimately this has lead to an attraction for other producers to give their take on the club-hit, and Preditah's interpretation delivers an absolute battering. 

Laying heavy on the old-school bassline and wobbles, as expected from Preditah, this remix is a weighty, colossal banger.

Jaymes Young - Habits Of My Heart (Sharkoffs Remix)

I've been unfamiliar with any of Sharkoffs work prior to hearing this remix of Jaymes Young's 'Habits Of My Heart', however upon doing a bit of research, I realise that this might be intentional.
The LA-based DJ/Producer keeps his identity anonymous by wearing a shark-inspired helmet at all public appearances, much like Daft Punk, Deadmau5, Jaguar Skills etc etc.

This remix grabbed my attention because it's much like a lot of the drum & bass tracks I accquainted myself with when I first started listening to the genre many years ago - uptempo, electro-infused melodies divided up by modified vocal pieces. Probably far too 'EDM' sounding (for lack of a better word) for a lot of the UK drum-heads, but this makes me feel 15 again, so I like it.

Made In Heights - Ghosts

LA-based duo Made In Heights have managed to muster up some serious viral buzz with their previous releases. Now returning with their new single 'Ghosts', it doesn't look like there are any signs of that slowing down any time soon.
Audiences appreciate a distinctive sound and Made In Heights have just that - with productions which lie somwhere between pop, percussion and trap, continuously layered with the sweetest, delicate vocals from Kelsey Bulkin.
Silky business.

TC - Everything For A Reason (Ivy Lab Remix)

There's been a lot of internet teasing from various sources since the release of 'Everything For A Reason' for those who didn't like the route TC took with the production of the original, that the Ivy Lab remix wouldn't dissapoint. I wasn't at Outlook festival (wish I was), but apparently this remix got rinsed. Having featured as Frictions 'Remix of the Week' over at Radio 1 this week, the track has finally made its way onto the internet.
Ivy Lab certainly don't hold back, they completely flip the track on its head with a refreshingly unique and dark production to counter-act the more commercial sounding drum & bass production of the original.

Hugh Hardie - Closer

Massive production from Hugh Hardie.
 The young Cambridge based producer/DJ has had a number of features on over at Hospital Records, as well on Liquicity in the past year; the more i'm hearing, the more i'm liking.

'Closer' hits a bullseye between melody and energy and provides some all-round monumental vibes.
The track will be available as part of Liquicity's 4-track EP 'Voyage' which will be released 22nd September.

Christina Aguilera - Genie In A Bottle (Loveless Remix)

Masterfully re-working a well-known classic into a danceable contemporary house tune is a recipe for success and a quick-fix for gaining some recognition in today's music culture. Norwegian production duo Loveless try their luck at one of 90's pop culture's staple tunes 'Genie In A Bottle' by Christina Aguilera. Down-pitching the vocals and laying heavy on the piano chords and handclaps, Loveless have done a stellar job at curating a compelling uptempo and dancefloor-directed house track with a wide appeal.
