Murdock, Submatik & Jenna G - Good Luv

I knew this track would impress before even hitting play for 3 solid reasons:
1. Submatik; I've been following the duo for a while and always have time to hear something new. No strangers to Liqucity, these guys consistently release melodious, energy-charged drum & bass tracks.
2. Escapism; This track is the first taste from the upcoming 'Escapism 2' compilation album forthcoming on Liquicity. I still play the tracks from the 1st edition of Escapism regularly and look forward to hearing more of those quality vibes from Liquicity and all producers involved.
3. Jenna G; When it comes to drum & bass vocalists, Jenna G is the queen. Highly respected in the scene and continues to bring productions to the next level.
'Escapism 2' available from December 1st

Dream Mclean ft. Professor Green & CASisDEAD - D.W.I.D

Dream Mclean hooks up with chart-topper Pro Green and well-respected UK rapper CASisDEAD over a burly production to deliver this haunting video for his latest track 'D.W.I.D'.

The track is taken from Dream's forthcoming album 'Greyscale', which will be released on Chase & Status's label MTA records.

The trio together bring out an inherent rawness and grit to their respective verses in defiance of the hedonistic and carefree nature of the track. Pro Green savours us a taste of the old school whilst Dream & CASisDEAD show-off what they do best.
 Big tune.

Redlight - Gold Teeth

It's been less than 2 weeks since I gave mention to Redlight's remix of Rae Morris' 'Closer' , and he's caught my ears once again with his forthcoming single 'Gold Teeth'.

The promotion for this track is unnecessary because it's already bound to be a smash-hit, heavyweight club-banger that will sweep up a variety of club sets all over the shop for the next year.

Flaunting a catchy hook and a hefty breakdown that could get anyone shaking a tail feather. Good luck having this stuck in your head all day.

No info on release. Keep posted.

Wretch 32 - 6 Words (Friction Remix)

Shogun Audio's head honcho, Friction, hops on official remix duties for Wretch 32's forthcoming single '6 Words'. Much less of the obvious here, this isn't necessarily the style of production you expect to hear from a Friction re-work. Nevertheless its still a tune to relish in. The original track from Wretch 32 has a subtle drum & bass production within its chorus - Friction gives emphasis to this and ups the tempo to devise a breezy, feel-good remix.

'6 Words' available from November 16th here.

Bonobo - Flashlight

When you're looking for desolate tunes to unwind to, there is no producer more fitting than Simon Green a.k.a Bonobo.
'Flashlight' is the title track from the forthcoming 3-track EP that follows up last years prosperous 'The North Borders' album, dazzling listeners once again with more atmospheric elegance and artistry with a recurrent groove distinguishable only as a Bonobo piece.
'Flashlight' EP will be available from December 1st via. Ninja Tune.

Nu:Tone - Change

Reeaall gassed for this one.
One of my long-term favourite producers and Hospital Records veteran, Nu:Tone, returns in a big way with 'Change', taken from the soon-to-drop, brand new album 'Future History'.
Tracks like 'Change' epitomize Nu:Tone's ability to curate stupendously clean and breathtaking jungle and breakbeat productions. Future History, as the title suggests, educates its audience by paying tribute to the historical resonance of drum & bass and jungle music, building upon its foundations and reinforcing what is sacred to the genre through a fresh and contemporary perspective.
'Future History' available from November 10th.

Krakota - Xylo

The newest signing to the Hospital Records crew comes through with an absolute stonker of a debut. There's no messing around on this one, the track title is 'Xylo' and a catchy xylo-beat with a deep sub is exactly what is supplied. Anyone else feeling reminiscent of Chase & Status's 'Music Club'
Krakota has consistently been releasing banger after banger on the biggest of the drum labels and the standard doesn't drop here. The new 'Xylo / Irregular' EP is enough to give anyone a workout, with two very different but equally high-impact tracks tailor-made for the power hours. Out Now.

Kimyan Law - Run Ames

I haven't heard something both so incredibly refreshing and perfectly rendered in long while.
This is the first single drop from Austrian producer Kimyan Law, and the 19 year old producer (only 19 FFS) has done an astounding job at letting us know what he's capable of and putting the staple down for the music he wants to create.

Sounds engineered like a true artist, there is so much enticement in the simplicity of this track - a vocal from Robert Manos that lends itself immaculately to the raw bassline and modest drum-pattern of the production, leaving us with a poignant final product.

The guy is definitely on my list. Single drop on Monday.
Released via Blu Mar Ten Music.

Joe Ford - Knock Down / Off Centre

Latest release over at Shogun Audio comes from up and coming 21 year old Joe Ford with his 2-track EP 'Knock Down / Off Centre'.
The forthcoming EP plays a game of two halves. 'Knock Down' is as expected, a hard-hitting, neuro drum and bass banger that hammers hard and takes listeners into the very depths of the drum and bass soundscape.
'Off Centre' is a little more unexpected, with the track literally dropping into its groove after the words 'Lets try something different' - keeping a loose melody upon a barrage of dark futuristic sounds that are reminiscent of Camo & Krooked's latest works. Serious tuneage on both parts, Shogun has never been afraid to step outside of the box.

Hybrid Minds - Ascent (A.M.C Remix)

Hybrid Minds have recruited a whole heap of big names in the drum and bass scene including the likes of Lenzman, Total Science and BCee to remix tracks off their incredible debut album 'Mountains'.

'Mountains' was such a first-rate album solitarily, the announcement of part 2 of the project  had me question wether we really needed a remix album a year on from the release of the original. However, the guys of Hybrid Minds knew just the right producers to enlist for the job and have assembled something that you didn't know was so necessary until now.
Infusing the luscious liquid originals with deeper, darker and heavier progressions to create an all-in-all more club-ready album.
Take note; A.M.C's remix of 'Ascent'. Gentle for an AMC remix, but all the substance from the original left in tact.

'Mountains Remixed' Album Release: 24th November.
Come party with me at the launch party @ Plan B, November 28th.

Hybrid - Power Curve (Noisia Remix)

Friction's Fire track this week over on Radio 1 this week is a massive, energy-packed stomper of a remix from Noisia of Hybrid's 'Power Curve', part of the new 'Driveclub' PS4 game OST composed entirely by Hybrid.
Absolute belter of a production, enough to get anyone flailing rabidly with a rumbling bassline like this.
Heavy stuff.

Purchase the 'Driveclub' OST here (it's really good.)

Jakwob - No Place Like Home

Jakwob returns with an emotive display of quality production skills on his latest track 'No Place Like Home', featuring the vocals of Rationale.

It's all systems go now for Jakwob with a forthcoming album on the way, he's keeping fans on toes with new material that is sensationally epic. Not to expect anything other than stunning executions from any members of the Digital Soundboy crew.

Single is avaiable to puchase here.

Andy C - Heartbeat Loud VIP

"but Drum & Bass mate..."
Nothing else needs to be said from the man himself Andy C in regards to this VIP he's delivered for his latest single 'Heartbeat Loud' ft. Fiora. Loaded with a weighty punch for those who were suspect of the original, the video shows Andy C smashing up festival sets all through the summer. I was lucky enough to catch him at both Detonate Festival at the beginning of the summer and Bestival at the end... and I would do unspoken things to go back to those moments right now.

'Heartbeat Loud' is available to pre-order now on iTunes.

Wayward - Belize

Wayward make a well-awaited return with their latest 6-track 'Ugetsu' EP. With a week on the market to settle into the playlists and ear-holes of the masses, the EP has befittingly received a killer response.
Taking us through an orbit of listening liaisons, from upbeat, jazzy breaks as is heard in the opening track 'Baile' to the alluring progressive ambience of 'Waver' ft. Elderbrook.
This track, 'Belize', however, stood out to me as the most powerful composition from the EP. The intended nature of the production is impossible not to get enthralled in; the listener at the disposal of the songs soulful sentiment.
For best experience, listen to the 'Ugetsu' EP as a whole.

BenZel - Wasted Love (SpectraSoul Remix)

Straight off the back of their last bootleg of Sampha's 'Too Much', SpectraSoul returns with another incredible dark, liquid roller of a remix for Benzel's 'Wasted Love' featuring Stevie Neal.

There's not much to say other than that these guys are phenomenal. Able to make me fall in love in minutes with everything they touch.
It really doesn't get much better than this.

Forthcoming on PMR / Friends Keep Secrets.

Dub Phizix & Strategy - Buffalo Charge

The track that has been smashing up festival and club sets all through the summer is finally here!
If you haven't heard Dub Phizix & Strategy's 'Buffalo Charge' yet I honestly do not know where you've been.
Set to be one of these guys biggest and most popular releases to date, Buffalo Charge has taken its time to have its official audio released online, and with one of the most jokes videos i've ever seen accompany a drum track. Dirty beats and MCing buffalo's, what more could you want really.
Available to purchase on digital or vinyl at the end of this week, to grab your copy follow the link below:

Lunar C - Smash Things Up

Lunar C, my favourite person to follow on every social media account due to his unstoppable hilarity, returns with a brand new video (also hilarious) for his track 'Smash Things Up' in which we see him reeking havoc and being a general public nuisance around Leeds.
'Smash Things Up' is the first teaser of what is to come off of the forthcoming 'Not Good At Life' EP which drops December 1st.

Brandishing a solid production from Pete Cannon and a lyrical flow that is beyond question. Each release from Lunar only gets better and better, solidifying his position as one of my favourite UK rappers (as is the same with many others, a fact which becomes more apparent when you witness the dominance of his fan base online).

Big up Lunar C, BUH.

Childish Gambino - Sober

Last week Childish Gambino (a.ka. Donald Glover) released his 2-part project 'STN MTN / Kauai EP' to the public.

STN MTN was packed with trap productions and gangsta-rap verses and features that gives evident homage to contemporary rap music.
This side of the project, which was given away for free, shows the raw side of the Atlanta rapper, a side which many have not registered due to his mainstream releases being not particularly of this taste.

The other side, the Kauai EP was available at a cost, with proceeds going to keeping Kauai, a small Hawaiian island, clean. This side features more singing and R&B influenced tracks, and opens with my favourite track from the project as a whole - 'Sober'.
With a Pharrell/Frank Ocean feel to the vocal performance, and an 80's tinge to the production, the track is an undeniable hit. With his Soundcloud page only featuring a 'rough' cut version, yet everything is held so perfectly in balance with each other, shows testament to Gambino's talent and abilities.

Becky Hill - Losing (TC Remix)

Not only incredible as a solo artist in her own right, Becky Hill has proven that she can lend her voice to a whole spectrum of genres. Having received enormous praise and recognition for being the voice of dance floor anthems such as Wilkinson's 'Afterglow' and Oliver Heldens 'Gecko', the new single 'Losing' breaks out to a more ambient and heartfelt setting, giving a taste of what you can expect to hear come off her debut album. However with hotshots such as this one from TC taking on the official remixes for the single, theres still something for everyone on the 'Losing' EP, out November 9th;

Rae Morris - Closer (Redlight Remix)

Redlight brings Rae Morris's 'Closer' into a very grooveable place on the official track remix, affixing some classic housey piano chords that lend themselves nicely to Blackpool's own pop singer-songwriter's vocals.

Available as part of the official 'Closer' EP, available from the 22nd October.

Cam'Ron - Oh Boy (Ivy Lab 2020 Bootleg)

Another free download for you, and this ones pretty special.
The Ivy Lab trio (Sabre, Halogenix & Stray) are up to their usual tricks, bootlegging tracks that will leave you marvelling at their talents. This time around it's Cam'Ron's 'Oh Boy'.
Although its still fresh, this could well grow to be one of my favourites from them.
These guys have such a unique and refreshing production style, fusing and experimenting with their influences of drum & bass, hip hop, funk, soul & electronica.
You can never quite tell what these guys are going to pull out of their hat next; and with such a solid back-catalogue of tunes both individually and together, they have made themselves a force to be reckoned with.
To get this download free go 'like' the 20/20 LDN Facebook Page

The Knocks - Classic (Le Youth Remix)

If I could shuffle, I would do so for hours to this tune.

But I can't shuffle, so as a consolation I will just awkwardly punch the air.
(Jokes, there would be nothing awkward about it cause i'm actually sick at dancing).

Anyway, yeah.
Le Youth has done a remix of The Knocks track 'Classic' and it's pretty funky; good vibes, very catchy, I'm liking muchly.

This remix, alongside one from RAC became available to purchase over on Beatport yesterday. Follow this link to grab yourself a copy.

Sampha - Too Much (Spectrasoul Bootleg)

Shogun Audio's 10th birthday celebrations have already kicked off with their first event being last Friday at the infamous Rainbow Venues in Birmingham and from here on out will see the label take their celebrations all around the major cities of the UK. I'm lucky enough to have secured myself a ticket for the upcoming event this Friday in London's Studio Spaces, and boy is it looking to be a big one. Haven't been this excited for a rave in a long time and for good reason, the all-star line up includes sets from Friction, Technimatic, Icicle, Rockwell, Spectrasoul and the list goes on..
To add to this excitement, Spectrasoul have just released their bootleg of Sampha's most popular solo hit 'Too Much' as a free download. Stunning production as expected from Spectrasoul; listen and download below:-

Great Good Fine OK - By My Side

It's a thoroughly rainy wednesday morning here in London, but Brooklyn-based duo Great Good Fine OK inject a bit of electro-pop sunshine into the first day of October with their newly brandished song 'By My Side', taken from their forthcoming debut EP 'Body Diamond' just a mere week before its release.

Synth-pop production with a sprinkling of indie influence all topped off with a catchy falsetto hook. These guys know what to do when it comes to infectious, sparkling and all-round feel good productions. Can't wait to get my hands on the EP and indulge in this sound more regularly.

Comeback - Ella Eyre (S.P.Y Jungle Remix)

Ella Eyre deserves some huge respect for her rapid ascension into the UK music scene, having originally broke into the scene as a songwriter 3 years ago, writing tracks for and featuring alongside the likes of Rudimental, Professor Green, Sigma and Bastille. At only 20 years of age Eyre has not only secured herself as one of the fresh talents to watch, but has also developed a wide-spread fanbase which only seems to be growing.

The new single 'Comeback' is out now to which Hospital veteran S.P.Y has provided two remixes. His jungle remix, featured below, is a no holds barred rave tune i'm sure was designed to purvey in his and others forthcoming sets, keeping much more to what you expect a S.P.Y remix to be. Whereas the summer remix takes a more commercial approach, keeping most of the original in tact with added breaks and a satisfying groove.

Remix EP available now, features these remixes and more from the likes of Mike Delinquent and Waze & Odyssey - buy now.
