Years & Years - Take Shelter

Can't put a genre on this track, somewhere in between dancehall, synth-pop, indie, house, soul and RnB. Something it definitely is though, is addictive. Sleek smooth vocals and a summer vibesing production makes 'Take Shelter' a real power single for London-based trio and new signee's to Polydor Years & Years which promises to give them a decent boost in recognition over the summer months.
The 'Take Shelter' EP isn't available until August 4th but available to pre-order here.

Diplo - Revolution (Danny Diggz Remix)

SUNDAY FUNDAY.
Been out of touch with anything coming out of the trap scene for awhile, having nothing caught my ears. But every so often a tune like this will come out of the woodwork and reassure my approval of the genre.
Festival season is coming and theres nothing quite like hearing a tune like Danny Diggz's official remix of Diplo's January hit 'Revolution' get blared out of the big sound systems.
This remix is available from Diplo's 'Random White Dude Be Everywhere' deluxe collection available from July 29th and available to pre-order here now. The compilation features some of his most popular singles, exclusive remixes and a couple brand new tracks. Weather this is to your taste or not you've gotta respect Diplo's grind to become one of the top DJ's and producers on the globe right now.

T and Sugah - Green Valleys

T and Sugah, what a name.
Not heard a track quite like this, a refreshing sound to the drum scene. This track comes off Liquicity's 'Galaxy Of Dreams 2' which has a lot of great productions from the likes of Maduk, Whiney, Dexcell, Flite, Rameses B and more. A lot of the tracks which are released via Liquicity have their own staple sound which is what I like about the Liquicity branding technique. In this case, a hybrid of half-time and electro-influenced liquid drum and bass. And it works.
'Galaxy of Dreams 2' available to purchase HERE.

Chris Malinchak - Stranger (Blonde Remix)

If you haven't heard the original of Chris Malinchak's latest single 'Stranger' ft. Mikky Ekko, go give it a listen here. Definitely one of the big contenders for 2014's summer-time anthem; real catchy hook, strong vocals, a nice old-school vibe, disco beat and general Jackson 5 influence.
Today we saw the first of the official remixes unveiled for the forthcoming single; Bristol-based house duo Blonde spin their magic on the track, vibesing the more contemporary house sound. Pointing more of a focus on the production of the track, adding some heavy piano loops to make it more of a club-ready beat. Equally as catchy as the original in a very different way, this is a prime remix for those day-time parties.

Audio - Heads Up

Ram Records latest signing, Audio, comes in with all guns blazing for his first solo Ram debut.
Absolute anarchic vibes coming off on his latest release 'Heads Up' -  A raw yet refined production, driven by well-structured combativeness that has resulted in an unbounded rave-floor stomper of a track.

Definitely one designed for the power-hours, I really hope I get to hear this dropped out in a set sooner rather than later because I can only imagine what it would do to the crowd. Screwface armageddon.

'Heads Up' single is out now and available to purchase HERE

Technimatic - Not A Perfect Love

The kings of emotionally inspired, poignant drum. London-based duo Technimatic have been consistently producing some awe-inspiring tracks, remaining a staple artist on Shogun Audio's label through their distinctive productions.

With their forthcoming debut album 'Desire Paths' on the way, we have seen the showcasing of 'Like A Memory' which has swiftly gained recognition, circulating the drum scene  and is receiving its fair amount of promotion.

This belle of a B-side 'Not A Perfect Love' deserves its own stand-alone appreciation however, and hopefully sees a place on the album in my books. Gorgeous production as always from Technimatic.

Keeno - Innocence

Been supporting Keeno since day dot. Truly talented young producer, infusing elements of classical music with contemporary drum and bass to produce some absolutely stunning productions. This is my ideal downtime listening.

Recently signed to Hospital sister label Med School Music, we can now look forward to Keeno's debut full-length, 14-track LP "Life Cycles", available from 30th June, available to pre-order HERE can't wait to get a full listen to this one; for now here's the official video to 'Innocence' off the album, all filmed by Keeno himself on GoPro during his tour.

Zero T - Refusal (Alix Perez Remix)

Forthcoming on Integral Records, Alix Perez remixes one of Zero T's favoured tracks 'Refusal' from back in 2007.

Perez takes it back to his original production style with this one, keeping that old school vibe.

A quality, fluid liquid production that does justice to the original. All round beautiful track, an ideal release for this time of year.

Lenzman - Looking At The Stars

Lenzman's 'Looking At The Stars' LP has without a doubt been one of the most hyped up and anticipated drops in the DnB scene of 2014 so far, the full LP got dropped for the public yesterday and features a number of collaborations with vocalists such Steo, Martyna Baker and DRS.
Each track has its own distinctiveness, with Lenzman taking a number of influences from other genres in puzzling together a full LP which isn't short of perfect. It's impossible to choose one track to represent the whole album, but personal favourites of mine balance between 'Just Can't Take' ft. DRS and 'Move & Focus' ft. Dan Stezo.

It's a big year for Metalheadz, 'Looking At The Stars' is an absolute essential for anyone who likes to keep on top of the drum and bass rotation.

Zinc - Show Me (Sigma Remix)

It feels like it's been ages since I featured the original of 'Show Me' by DJ Zinc on the blog back in December last year, but it has not long been since I stopped playing it on a regular basis. Huge track which fast-rising drum duo Sigma have decided to work their magic on to re-capture the beauty of the original with a little spin on the genre. Sigma seem pretty unstoppable at the moment, releasing tune after tune, remix after remix and I can safely say I've enjoyed them all. I know a lot of people turn their nose up at pop-dnb but I think the breakthrough of underground genres in a mainstream marketplace is vital in keeping underground genre's alive. All producers and promoters deserve ratings for following what they believe in. Looking forward to hearing more of this remix through the summer.

All About She - C'est Moi (Go Slow EP)

I've introduced All About She to the blog before for Preditah's remix of their track feel-good summer track 'Higher', and now their making a return following the release of their FREE EP 'Go Slow', in which the London-based trio really reinforce their sound.
The EP features some summer playlist essentials; the group generate a nice compromise between chill-out ambience and funky, bass-driven dance production, making the EP flexible to appropriate surroundings. You should get the general gist of what's expected from this track 'C'est Moi', but make sure you grab all six tracks featured for free by following this link.
Big up these guys, i'm looking forward to their ascendence into the UK commercial dance scene following the likes of acts such as Clean Bandit etc.

MK - Always (Friction Remix)

Route 94's remix of MK's track 'Always' has been taking the music scene by storm at the minute, but DnB is a vice of mine, so naturally this remix from drum-crusader and Shogun boss Friction blew the other versions out of the water for me. Heard this get dropped at Detonate Festival (one of the best days ever) the other week in Nottingham and it all popped off.

Friction keeps the familiarity of the original but spins a completely different vibe to any other remixes i've heard of the track. It's a big one for festivals, so if Friction is on any of the line-ups you're attending this summer be sure to catch his set.

If you haven't heard his other latest productions off of the Friction Versus series, 'Battle Scars' or 'Scatter', you're in for a treat; cop that here.

Oliver Heldens X Becky Hill - Overdrive (Gecko)

Kicking off the summer with a tune from Becky Hill and Oliver Heldens that needs no extra showcasing, but is still a tune so deserves its praise. I've heard this track getting a lot of radio play recently, and i'm sure it'll be inescapable over the coming months and will most likely receive a decent position in the UK charts.
Becky Hill is a bit of a legend in my books, namely for being one of the only successful artists to emerge from the UK's series of 'The Voice' so far, and doing so taking the route she's decided to take, rather than the expected overly-commercialised and integrity-lacking releases which usually results from the successors of music-based reality shows.
Powerful vocals from Becky accompanied by an undeniably infectious production from Oliver Heldens, this track is an absolute stomper, the video gives me some seriously queasy vibes though, not cool.
Release for this is from June 22nd, but pre-order here now.
