Shift K3y - Touch

If you've paid attention to this blog for awhile you'll realise that Shift K3y has had a few songs featured now, but none quite like his latest single and video, 'Touch'.
The track sees the London musician/producer take a more forward approach in providing his own vocals to accompany his production. Balancing firmly on the line between house and commercial pop, this is an undeniably catchy tune and possibly a boost in the right direction in terms of Shift K3y's career.

Release April 13th; pre-order here.

Karma - Open Your Eyes

Killer track - Karma's well known for his melodies and latest single 'Open Your Eyes' features a soulful vocal, clean drum breaks and a dark, rolling baseline.

Recently signed to CYN, Karma releases his first single of the year following on from 2013's release of 'Her Touch'.

'Open Your Eyes' is available to purchase now on Beatport here

360 - Sixavelli (feat. Lunar C)

Lunar C has been over in Australia recently where he's pulled off an incredible collaboration with Aussie rapper 360. A culture clash in the best kind of way, the production on this track is heavy and the hook is sick, both of these guys go in on their respective verses. The track is infallible.
Some trippy, drug-inspired but also comedic video not uncommon from the likes of these guys but it incorporates itself with the songs influence nicely. 10/10.
This track will be released as part of 360's album 'Utopia' that'll be released in June and is available for Pre-Order early April.

Kove - Way We Are

Kove is making a big splash in the music scene at the moment following up his previous release earlier this year with 'Gobble' which is still getting notable radio play. The London producer once again shows off his vast versatility in production by releasing this absurdly catchy tune featuring traditional house piano loops with drum breaks all accompanied nicely by the vocals of Melissa Steel.

On the back of this release, Kove has released another official remix of Foxes latest track 'Holding Onto Heaven' of which you can give your ears the pleasure here.

This guy is one to watch for this year, huge momentum behind him;

Sigma - Nobody To Love

Sigma release the official video for their incredible track 'Nobody To Love' originally a bootleg remix of Kanye West's 'Bound 2' as I'm sure the vocal piece is familiar. This tune is already a contender to be the summer anthem of 2014, and the video definitely sparks up some summer vibes. I'm lucky enough to be catching Sigma (for the first time) this friday at the Hospitality/Detonate/Critical event this Friday in Nottingham and am hoping this gets dropped.
Released via 3Beat, 'Nobody To Love' is available to but from 6 April - Pre Order now

Sleepyhead - Say U 3 Me

NYC DJ / Producer, Sleepyhead just released his 'Untitled' EP which features five body-jacking, sample-filled house tracks including this little gem 'Say U <3 Me'. Perhaps not my usual choice of track but the little nostalgic sample from Blu Cantrell's piece in classic Sean Paul track 'Breathe' is enough to set anyone off. Simple production but sometimes with tunes like this less is more.

Sky Ferreira - You're Not The One (Cid Rim Remix)

Austrian producer Cid Rim remixes Sky Ferreira's 2013 hit 'You're Not The One'.
Sky Ferreira is no stranger to having her songs popularly remixed by house and electronic producers, case in point with 'Everything Is Embarrassing' making the rounds with various producers including MK and Krystal Klear, and the tune got some decent exposure because of it.
Cid Rim sets the standard for the latest release, revamping the once alternative grunge-pop production into a choppy electronic delight - perfect for your spring time playlist.

L'Orange - Need You

North Carolina musician and producer L'Orange recently just signed a deal to independent label Mello Music Group in which he releases this latest jazz-inspired hip-hop track 'Need You' aided by underground up-and-coming L.A rapper Blu. Not the first time these guys have united and worked together, (check  'Alone', released last year) and probably not the last - these guys have a knack for curating some jaw-dropping tracks that blur the boundaries between classical and contemporary music. I'll let the track do the rest of the talking.

Rudimental - Powerless feat. Becky Hill (TIEKS Remix)

'Powerless' is the 6th single dropped by popular breakthrough drum and bass quartet Rudimental, this time calling upon the vocal talents of Becky Hill, the 20 year-old girl who proves single handedly that coming off a reality singing competition like 'The Voice' doesn't mean that you have to drop all of your musical integrity just to get a commercial career.
As expected the original is a powerful, moving and very well produced piece, but TIEKS gives the track a funky house production that elevates the mood of the track and switches up the tempo to make it a more addictive, club-ready tune.

Skizzy Mars - Too Ill

For those of you who don't know Skizzy Mars, he's a manhattan based rapper and wordsmith who's worth getting familiar with. His latest track 'Too Ill' was released as the teaser track for his now-available 'Pace' EP.

You're probably pre-accustomed to the production sound on this one as it samples Banks' huge summer hit 'Warm Water', given a little hip-hop twist from producer Michael Keenan.
The new mixtape couldn't be dropped at a better time as it exudes spring-time fever and it's almost impossible for a track like this not to lift your spirits.

Ty Dolla $ign - Paranoid (DJ Hoodboi & Falcons Remix)

Not so fresh off the press, I might be a bit late to the party on this track, but this beat is so catchy that I can't stick this in my library without making a song and dance about it.
DJ Hoodboi & Falcons provide the remix for Ty Dolla $ign's 'Paranoid', and what a bouncy production it is. In true Jersey Club fashion, this track would be one to bring the dance-floor to life. If I'm ever lucky enough to hear this version of the track get dropped in a club, expect flailing arms, shuffling feet and a smile from ear-to-ear.

Fred V & Grafix - Recognise

Fred V & Grafix have released the title track from their long-awaited debut album 'Recognise' - available from March 31st.
The track itself is an embodiment of the development in their sound over their years of support and the album promises to be as well-produced, uplifting and carefully thought out as their previous successors.

"Pursuing a rapid ascension to D&B’s top table since signing to Hospital Records Fred V & Grafix have quickly become one of the most talked about acts in the scene. Having remixed top 10 hits for Rudimental and Subfocus, and released a string of singles and tracks on Hospital, they now present their debut long player. An ambitious and consummate development of the sound they have become know for, built on a solid foundation of d&b beats, the album combines their love for live music, weighty sub bass and creative collaborations with newschool vocalists and producers."

Redlight - Get Money

Redlight teams up with Raekwon for his second instalment of what we can expect to hear from his upcoming self-titled '36' EP available from 10th March.

Providing a trap-esque beat for past Wu-Tang rap music don Raekwon to showcase his talents on, this track couldn't sound more different from his recent release '36' feat. Loti, going to show that you just can't predict whats next with the sky-rocketing UK producer - expect the unexpected with this EP, i'm assuming that Redlight is going to show his production skills through variability in his selection of tunes.

Rene LaVice - Where My Ladies At

Rene LaVice provides the official video for Ram Records next big stomper of a track 'Where My Ladies At' which I can assure any drum fans are going to be hearing get dropped a lot over the coming months. I went to the Ram x Detonate event last Friday in Notts and this track was layer down a couple times, needless to say being such a fresh release, it made the place go off. I'd heard this track prior to the event, but when its played on those club speakers it's something else
This tune sets the standard for bass-heavy drum tracks in 2014, and acts as a benchmark for what a year LaVice is going to have.
Available for download from March 16th, track is available to pre-order now by following this link.
