Frankee - Black Heart

Newly signed to Ram Records, Frankee releases this absolute stonker of a drum track and sets some strong foundations for himself as a serious producer new amongst the scene, not to be overlooked.
The track has been specially selected to be featured as Friction's fire track of the week and has been receiving a lot of radio play and promotion from some big names.

Desperate to hear someone drop this in a set, would act as a real nice switch up.
Watch this space - there's gunna be a lot more to come from Frankee.

Chiddy Bang - Breathe

Chiddy Bang are back with their new single 'Breathe' - the first track to be released from the forthcoming mixtape 'Baggage Claim'.

Pretty chill in comparison to previous Chiddy Bang releases, If this is how the duo's music is maturing i'm really excited to hear what else the mixtape has to offer.

Produced by Yuri Beat$, the track reflects a nostalgic trip into the old days - something everyone can relate to and appreciate. Definitely one for the summer playlist.

Jutty Ranx - I See You (Bit Funk Remix)

Brooklyn-based DJ Bit Funk has a way with the art of remixing, I tend to like his remixes more than the originals themselves.
This latest remix he brings a soulful house touch to Jutty Ranx's 'I See You'.

Not much to fault on this track, love the vocals, love that soulful disco vibe that Bit Funk has brought with the remix - a big summer track. Listen out for this one, it's been going viral so expect to hear it in the clubs soon.

Dreadsquad ft. Doubla J - Full Time (Run Tingz Remix)

Nothing like a bit of ragga to get you feeling lively when the clouds are rolling in.
The original of 'Full Time' is an upbeat reggae track by Dreadsquad which stand alone deserves its own feature on here.
The 'Digital Rules Riddim' EP took us back to the golden-era of dancehall. The remix EP delivers to us the same riddims in a ragga-jungle style that act more as party-starter tracks whereas the originals are more for downtime.

It's worth giving both EP's a listen, but for now I give you this- Run Tingz remix of 'Full Time';

Lorde - Million Dollar Bills (EASY GIRL Remix)

No shame at all in saying i'm a fan of Lorde, she's been circulating the viral music scene for awhile and now the young New Zealander is surfacing her unique take on alternative pop music into the world of the mainstream.
Her voice lends well to remixes and i've been hearing a lot of them getting plenty of radio play over here.
This latest remix of her track 'Million Dollar Bills' from E∆SY GIRL is undeniably fresh and we can never say no to a free download, especially when it's as good as this.

Young Kato - Drink, Dance, Play (Chords Remix)

Heard this remix feature on the Drum & Bass show with Crissy Criss on 1xtra not long ago and made sure to take note. I have heard a couple of chords tracks featured on radio and youtube, he adds a unique soulful feel into his drum and bass productions which is evident on this latest remix he's done for rising indie six-piece band Young Kato's hit single 'Drink, Dance, Play'
The blend of drum and bass and indie vocals gives an impression reminiscent of previous Rudimental releases. Big ups.

I heard a number of good remixes of this track so it's worth giving it a little research on youtube for anyone who likes this.

Kove - Searching

Kove is back with his latest music video for his track 'Searching' - A huge summer drum & bass track that gives us a taste of what we can expect from his forthcoming four-track EP 'Measures' via MTA Records. After releasing tracks on both RAM and Viper and having tracks and remixes featuring on the most popular drum & bass channels, Kove is living up to his name as one of the hotly tipped producers for 2013.

Lil Silva - Salient Sarah (ft. Sampha)

Last week London-based producer Lil Silva dropped his latest EP 'Distance' from which this track, 'Salient Sarah' has been taken. The producer has changed route from hard-hitting grime productions and taken more focus on creating tunes that are more pop-orientated on this EP.
The track is aided by the emotive and sultry vocal work of Sampha, recognisable from features on previous SBTRKT and Drake releases. The oppressive vocals are shortly contrasted with a funky, very danceable backdrop that gives the tune its hook.

Krystal Klear - Addiction (Royal-T Remix)

Feel like I don't get to feature as much UKG tracks as i'd like to on this blog, and thats mainly because we all know the best garage is from the old skool and I try to keep everything fresh and promote only what's new on here. But this remix from Royal-T takes all the best aspects of the old-skool garage/2-step style and re-bodies them within Manchester-based producer Krystal Klear's latest single 'Addiction'.

The track is definitely a slice of something fun, it keeps the melody from the original strong but Royal-T adds a flavour to it that only he could.
Not much to be said for Jenna G on the vocals, outstanding as always.
Big summer vibe.

'Addiction' will be released September 22nd via Rinse

Dillon Francis - Without You (ft. Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs)

Dillon Francis is currently preparing for his forthcoming debut studio album, but we have luckily been given a little slice of what's to come with this track 'Without You'. The track is happy medium between feel-good dance and low-key ambience with Dillon's production contrasting with TEED's vocals in a perfectly fitting way.

Steering away from the heavy drops we're used to hearing, we are informed that this track is personal to Dillon, as it is reminiscent of his recent troubled relationship in which TEED have vocalised his emotion.
I'm a fan anyway, and look forward to hearing more of what's to come.

Chase & Status - Count On Me (ft. Moko)

Seems like a lot of the drum pioneers have been trying their hand at producing other genres. By no means is this the first time we've seen Chase & Status do this, but their ability to produce an absolute dance-floor smash hit whatever the genre never fails to amaze me.

Big 90's vibe on this one, featuring vocals from rising star Moko, who i've previously introduced to the blog back in June. A feature from one of the UK's biggest dance acts is exactly the kind of recognition you want to be receiving with that vocal ability.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hoping to hear some 'More Than A lot'-esque tracks to come off the new album, but i'm too impressed with the singles i've heard so far to be disappointed.

'Count On Me' single is out September 29th, shortly followed by the full album available October 7th via Casablanca Records.

Total Science - Suspicious (ft. Riya)

So Total Science gave us a teaser taster the other day of their upcoming track 'Suspicious' featuring vocals from Riya off of their upcoming 'See Your Face' EP thats being released on Shogun Audio. I think it's safe to say it's not what most people were suspecting - those who keep very aware of Total Science may know that they have produced  and dabbled in other tempos/genres, as well as it having become more common of the more recent of Shogun Audio releases to stray away from purely drum & bass tracks, however, 'Suspicious' is definitely a curve ball from the harsh and abrasive breaks we heard from their first taster track 'Hush Ya Mouth' revealed forthcoming on the EP.
A much more down-tempo, sensual vibe which after a few listens, i'm really enjoying. And for anyone who is upset with the switch-up, be informed that there will be a tasty little remix of the track coming from Alix Perez on the EP to look forward to.

The Upbeats - Monogram

Both a song and an artist that do not deserve to be ignored. New Zealand duo The Upbeats released their album 'Primitive Technique' which became available for digital download towards the beginning of May, but only now have I managed to download and get a full listen to it in all of its glory.

A fresh take on drum & bass, the whole album is full of simple production, hence the album title; however the duo have put together some absoloute bangers that deserve a greater recognition.
I chose this track 'Monogram' off the album especially, for the main reason that it makes me want to go out and get SILLY, which I believe is what everyone likes to hear.
The progression in that intro is too much to handle.

The Mouse Outfit - Slicker Than Average

Only been introduced to The Mouse Outfit as of recently, took an instant like to their previous releases and here's the video for their new track 'Slicker Than Average', wielding a feature from Sparkz & Dubbul O, this down-tempo hip-hop track oozes with the sense of a modern-day classic. Piano loops and lyrical flow come together to make a tune thats on point.

For those, like me, who don't know much about The Mouse Outfit, they're a 9-piece hip hop band based in Manchester. If you like this, you'll find a whole lot of similar stuff over on their youtube channel below - but aren't we lucky, this download is on the house.

Bizarre Inc - Playing With Knives (Drumsound & Bassline Smith Remix)

Drumsound & Bassline Smith re-vamp this 90's classic from Bizarre Inc into a modern-day beast of a track, bound to get everybody on the dance floor going. That switch-up at 2:12 deserves a reload.
Seems like these guys are spending a lot of time in the studio; this remix coming straight off the back of their first studio album 'Wall of Sound'. Big ups.

Available via Vinyl Solution, September 2nd.

Dizzee Rascal - I Don't Need A Reason

An incredibly bold statement to make with this tune being so fresh off the press, but this has potential to be one of my favourite Dizzee Rascal tracks to date. This was the exact bass-heavy track I wanted to hear come from the rapper to restore my faith in him after some of the previous rubbish i've heard come from him - that tune he did recently with Robbie Williams made me want to punch myself in the face.
Now i'm excited to hear whats to come from the forthcoming studio album 'The Fifth', although I'm sure it will be 50% commercial tunes that I probably won't like, if the other 50% is up to this standard, it'll be going straight onto my iTunes.

Pre-order 'The Fifth' HERE - release 30th September.
