Loadstar - Be There

So the new Loadstar album 'Future Perfect' came out this week; i've given it a full listen and theres not a disappointed bone in my body. Covering a whole range of drum & bass sub-genres from, the 22-track album shows off the duo's production skills with a mix of their usual bass-heavy bangers and new production experiments as well as some great vocal features. I'm looking forward to catching Loadstar at festivals and events over the summer and hear their new material played on the big speakers.
It was a difficult choice to only pick one track to represent the album but 'Be There' was definitely stand-out for me.
Released on Ram records, Purchase 'Future Perfect' HERE

J Majik & Wickaman - Lift Me Up

J Majik & Wickaman released the first teaser EP for their latest single 'Lift Me Up', featuring vocals of Kate Loveridge in promotion for their new album 'Out of Sight' which drops 26/6/13.
This track is a certified banger, one you can expect to hear getting dropped on the big speakers in clubs during peak time.

The 11 track album is to be released on Infrared and shows the duo team up with various vocalists and producers both old and new to put together what you can expect to be one of the biggest d&b albums of the year.

Shola Ama - Boyfriend (Toddla T Sound Remix)

Shola Ama has a long collaborating history with Toddla T, now touring as one quarter of the Toddla T Sound collective - this track 'Boyfriend' was the first solo material i've heard come from the artist in quite a long time.

Unsurprisingly, Toddla T Sound have visited this track to give it a sultry makeover with a rumbling bassline to accompany Ama's sexual vocals.

Jacques Greene - On Your Side

My fondness of Jacques Greene seems to be ever-increasing; each song has me indulging in that sultry, r&b influenced, progressive goodness that he manages to consistently produce.
Those smooth, silky vocal talents from How To Dress Well fit the song perfectly.
 all in all, top ratings.

The EP will be available 3/6/13 via LuckyMe Records

Wiley - Reload ft. Chip (Cadenza Remix)

Big remix of Wiley's smash-hit reload from Cadenza, available to purchase HERE, taken from the 'Reload' remixes EP.

Rhye - Open (Keeno Remix)

Don't know how much more I can big Keeno up on this blog. Winchester based liquid drum & bass producer Keeno releases his latest remix of Rhye's 'Open' for free.

Every track as fluid and soothing as the last, this is the music I love to spend my downtime listening to.

A*M*E - Heartless (MNEK Remix)

Young british singer/songwriter A*M*E is gaining recognition fast after featuring the vocals on Duke Dumont's latest number-1 smash hit 'Need U (100%)'.
At only 18 years of age you know that her career is only going to be going up for a while to come.
'Heartless' is the latest single to be released form rising singer and MNEK has swept up the track for this upbeat remix just in time for summer.

Dizzee Rascal - H Town

It's good to see a new release come from grime legend Dizze Rascal which hasn't ascended into an over-produced, cheesy pop-rap track in order to gain commercial success.
Instead Dizzee Rascal returns to his old Texas rap fascination, teaming up with Bun B & Trae The Truth to rep 'H-Town' (Houston) on this track produced by A-Trak.

'H-Town' is out on iTunes now and is the first track to feature from Dizzee's upcoming album 'The Fifth'

Danny Byrd - Bad Boy (Back Again)

Danny Byrd brings the old skool back in a big way!
This is what I love to hear coming from producers from a label as established as Hospital Records - a tribute to and revival of the DnB classics.

This huge double A-side features this track and the title track '4th dimension' along with remixes - this is just a taster of whats to expect from the upcoming 'Golden Ticket' album; release in June.

Ryan Hemsworth - Perfectly

A very, very pleasant listen.

Canadian beat-craftsman brings us the lead single off of his 'Still Awake' EP - dropping May 23rd.
This track makes me nostalgic of a time less stressful than exam period.

Expect these same gentle, uplifting progressive vibes to radiate throughout the EP.

Liam Bailey - When Will They Learn (Chase & Status Remix)

Chase & Status step out of their usual drum & bass/breakbeat territory to provide this remix for Liam Bailey, well-known for collaborating with them on tracks such as 'Big Man' or perhaps better known smash-hit 'Blind Faith'.
A good remix of a good song, this clip is ripped from Annie Mac's show on Radio 1 and this remix will be released alongside the single on June 23rd.

Notorious B.I.G - Everyday Struggle (Dead Battery Remix)

Australian dubstep producer Dead Battery is much more known for his heavy in-your-face dubstep drops so this latest remix he's done for Biggies classic track 'Everyday Struggle' is somewhat of a surprise for fans of the producer.
A good surprise nonetheless as this shows off their wide range of production skills. I've heard a couple good Biggie remixes in the past and am a huge fan of renewing classic tracks into present day relevance.

Fatboy Slim - Praise You (Maribou State Remix)

Released on Fatboy Slim's Soundcloud himself - this remix from Maribou State is one of the most challenging remixes they could've taken on. This being such a classic anthem I didn't think anybody would be able to do it justice, but this remix completely changes the atmosphere of the track. Nice Job from the London duo.

Forthcoming on Skint Records.

Julio Bashmore - Au Seve (Jamie Hartleys Kickin' Back Remix)

So one of the biggest songs of the year gets a nice re-work to turn it into a suitable summer jam.
Kick back and relax.

Busta Rhymes - Twerk It

Busta Rhymes explores his Jamaican roots on this latest track 'Twerk It' - produced by Pharell, who seems to be working on everything big these days.

Breen - Say What You Want

New track from up-and-coming 20 year old Surrey/Leeds based singer/songwriter Breen.
Taken from the upcoming EP 'Say What You Want' - out 01/05/13.

Before now all I had heard from Breen was covers of other people's songs - it's good to see a unique style coming out. Great vocals with an indie/future garage influence - big tune.

This now being his debut official music video which is already receiving support and promotion from companies like Drop Dead theres no doubt that there are big things to come from this young artist.

Alix Perez - Playing Games

Real interested to see what's to come from the forthcoming Alix Perez album 'Chroma Chords'.

Alix Perez and a few of the other artists on the Shogun Audio label have been receiving criticisms from the long term fans of the label for playing (and for some, producing) too much trap music for a label that built itself on drum & bass. I look forward to seeing any influences 'Chroma Chords' might take on.

This track alone gives me confidence it's going to be a big album, featuring D.Ablo, this tune takes me away. That bassline sounds like it's sampled from or similar to Kendrick Lamar's 'Swimming Pools' - and that drum pattern topped off with those smooth vocals - this is something pretty special.

'Chroma Chords' is out May 20th -

Blackstreet - No Diggity (Bondax Remix)

Bondax have gone bold and done a remix for Blackstreet's classic 'No Diggity', and what a sick job they've done - this duo continue to make banger after banger consistently. Release date for the track is unknown

This was ripped from their latest XLR8R mix (30/04/13) 'Bondax' - listen to the full stream on the XLR8R website HERE
